| This December the streets of St Helier will light up for La Fete de Noue.
La Fete de Noue does not just recreate the normal Christmas lights that don
every British town, but a canopy of white lights hang over the streets of much
of St Helier.
With the lights, late night shopping and street entertainment takes place,
meaning the streets are not only filled with light but also people.
This year will also see St Helier have an open air ice rink, with skating into
the night.
Events for the festival include the Lantern Parade which sees huge paper dragons,
angels and other beings almost float above the streets, being illuminated from
within.
At the Royal Square, the market sells mulled wine, chestnuts, mince pies and
all sorts of seasonal favourites, while nearby street theatre groups entertain
locals and visitors alike with their stories of Christmas.
There will also be a number of moonlit walks around St Helier and the nearby
coast. |
